Giordano Berti - Art historian, writer and symbolist
In Brief
My name is Giordano Berti and for over forty years I have been involved in art history, esoteric symbolism and spiritual traditions of the West. My path has developed between academic research, cultural dissemination and creation of educational content, with the aim of making accessible ancient knowledge and often misunderstood, such as that of historical Tarot and divinatory arts.
I am the author of numerous books and essays, published by prestigious publishing houses and translated into several languages. My publications range from the history of the Tarot to fantastic fiction, poetry and studies on symbolism.
I have collaborated in the creation of three encyclopedias as an expert on esoteric art, ancient playing cards and symbolic philosophies.
exhibitions and events
Over the years I have designed and curated historical exhibitions of international importance, collaborating with top-level scholars, including:
- Michael Dummett (historian of logic and the Tarot)
- Franco Cardini (historian and essayist)
- Cecilia Gatto Trocchi (anthropologist and divulgator)
- Paolo Aldo Rossi (historian of science and religions)
These events have helped to enhance the cultural heritage of the Tarot and symbolic images, bringing them to the attention of a wider audience.
Expert in Tarot and symbolic cards
I am internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in historical Tarot, with an approach that combines philology, iconography and history of ideas. My studies delve into the origins, developments and hidden meanings of ancient bouquets, often unpublished or little known.
Through my editorial project Rinascimento – Italian Style Art, I deal with the faithful reprint of historical bouquets and the republication of texts illustrated with moral, political and esoteric emblems, offering to the public collections cared for in every detail.
my goal
To connect the knowledge of the past with the spiritual and cultural needs of the present.
I believe that the study of symbolic history and wisdom traditions can offer valuable tools to better understand ourselves and the world around us.
